How quickly do I have to live to see you again?
Young Takaki and sweet Akari meet, fall in love and part again. They search for themselves and each other, for words to express their feelings, touch each other, grow apart again and become adults. Sad and beautiful, they glide through the years, fall in love again, find new partners, new tasks and goals, forgetting each other and yet missing something. Like petals dancing in the wind and slowly falling to earth. In three wonderful short stories, director Makoto Shinkai explores the question of what the unsaid leaves behind, what the path is like on which we have left no trace.
