Do you believe in alternative worlds? That there is more than one reality? In the original Japanese anime film "The Relative Worlds", Shin Hazama is confronted with just such a fact....
After Shin had to deal with the death of his mother when he was still a child, his father also dies unexpectedly from a new disease called "secondary death". Shortly after, another version of his self emerges, seeking the life of his close friend Kotori.
It turns out that this "Jin" is from the Duchy of Japan, a country that exists as a parallel world to our own today. Jin is the counterpart of Shin, just as Kotori is the counterpart of Duchess Kotoko in the Duchy. If an I dies in one world, it dies in the other. It soon becomes clear that this is the explanation for the mysterious "secondary death". To stop the secondary deaths, all connections between the worlds must be cut. Can Shin save his Kotori? This inevitably means war between the worlds!
The film "The Relative Worlds" was released in Japanese cinemas in 2019 under the title "Ashita Sekai ga Owaru Toshitemo", penned by Yūhei Sakuragi. Founded in 2017, animation studio Craftar (The Relative Worlds, Ingress: The Animation, Drifters, etc.), which operates under the Hakuhodo DY Group, was responsible for the realisation of the film. The studio Craftar stands out as a specialist for "smart CGI" conversions and the further development of completely digitally created anime.
